THE NITROUS STORY
Nitrous can trace its roots to fashionable SOHO New York City where it began as Gotham Media Group in a one-room office on the corner of Spring and Lafayette Streets. Founded by two extremely creative video editors looking to serve their clients in a better way, and fascinated by pushing the limits of production and post production technology, the small shop eventually grew to two offices, then three over six years.
New York City changed and so did the company, which evolved into Nitrous Ltd and moved up to prestigious Fifth Avenue where Nitrous would command an entire floor in the Flatiron district for fourteen years. Breathtaking views of the Empire State Building, Fifth Avenue and the Flatiron added character to the growing Nitrous team. Manhattan, however, was not done with the now established business, and their second building was sold to become expensive condos (same fate as the first!). The hunt for a new home brought Nitrous to beautiful Westchester County—The City of White Plains, to be exact, a quick 30-minute ride from Manhattan on Metro North, with the train station literally across the street.
Surroundings may change, but the Nitrous core mission does not: combining highly skilled editors and producers with the latest technology to create impactful, breakthrough work that exceeds clients’ expectations. The same energy and passion that was the catalyst to start and grow the company then, exists today. Beautiful tree-lined views, lots of light, a serene vibe and the latest technology enable the Nitrous team to continue serving agency, broadcast and corporate clients on high visibility assignments. That’s why marquee brands like A+E, Alliance Bernstein, Disney, ESPN, and HBO continue to bring their most important projects in for the Nitrous Touch!
